To keep bringing you high-quality journalism, The Media Co-op needs your help to build a steady, regular source of funding. Our mission is to publish grassroots journalism in grassroots ways, and to pay the people who write for us while we do it.
Earlier this year, we had a semi-successful fundraiser, in which 26 donors gave $1675.
Since then, we've published stories on things like resistance to Canadian mining in Guatemala, the "overtly colonial" archaeology in the Toronto area obscuring Indigenous history, a key activist in the long struggle for justice for residents of Africville in Halifax, the fight for access to surgical abortions in New Brunswick, resistance to keffiyeh bans, lessons from a long-time homelessness and anti-poverty organizer, as well as our ongoing coverage of police-involved deaths across the country.
We're very thankful to everyone who made a donation in the spring. Since then, a change at our credit union meant that we lost several monthly donors. This fall, we are focusing on rebuilding that important base of support by finding 10 new monthly donors. With that money, we will be able to keep publishing good work and keep building our organizational capacity.
Can you become a monthly donor today?
We currently accept recurring donations via PayPal. Make sure you click the "Make this a monthly donation" box! And, yes, it says "Donate to The Dominion," which is our legal name and the name of the publication that The Media Co-op emerged from almost two decades ago.
Thank-you!
